Handling & Storage

Avoid prolonged contact with skin. In case of skin or eye contact, flush exposed area with large amounts of water. Store in original continers in a cool place and away from all sources of heat and direct sunlight. Containers should be tightly closed when not in use and keep away from incompatible materials.

Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP)

Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP), also known as Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, is one of the most commonly used primary plasticizers in the plastics industry, especially for polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It is an oily, colorless liquid that is highly compatible with PVC and helps improve the flexibility, softness, and durability of plastic products. DOP works by reducing the intermolecular forces between polymer chains, allowing them to move more freely and making the material less brittle and easier to process. Because of its excellent plasticizing efficiency, good stability, and relatively low cost, DOP has been widely used in the manufacturing of products such as electrical cables, flooring materials, synthetic leather, hoses, medical tubing, and coated fabrics. In addition to improving flexibility, it also enhances resistance to wear, water, and weather conditions. However, due to growing environmental and health concerns associated with certain phthalates, the use of DOP has been restricted in some applications, particularly in children’s toys and food-contact materials, leading to the development and increasing use of alternative plasticizers like DOTP.

Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)

Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) is an important primary plasticizer commonly used in the plastics and polymer industry to increase the flexibility, softness, and workability of materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and cellulose-based plastics. It is a colorless to slightly yellow oily liquid with good solvating properties, which allows it to mix easily with many polymers. DBP functions by reducing the intermolecular attraction between polymer chains, making the plastic material more flexible and easier to process during manufacturing. Because of its strong plasticizing efficiency and good compatibility with different resins, DBP is widely used in the production of adhesives, printing inks, coatings, sealants, nail polish, and synthetic resins. It also improves film-forming properties and enhances the durability of plastic products. However, DBP has relatively higher volatility compared to heavier plasticizers and may migrate out of plastic materials over time. Due to potential health and environmental concerns associated with phthalates, its use has been restricted in certain applications such as toys, cosmetics, and food-contact products in many countries, encouraging the development of safer alternative plasticizers.

Dioctyl Terephthalate (DOTP)

Dioctyl Terephthalate (DOTP) is a widely used primary plasticizer that serves as a safer and more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional phthalate plasticizers such as DOP. It is a colorless, oily liquid that provides excellent compatibility with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and significantly improves the flexibility, softness, and durability of plastic materials. DOTP works by reducing the intermolecular forces between polymer chains, which allows the material to become more flexible and easier to process during manufacturing. One of the major advantages of DOTP is its high thermal stability, low volatility, and strong resistance to extraction by water, oils, and solvents, which helps plastic products maintain their properties for a longer period. Because of its good performance and lower toxicity compared to many phthalate plasticizers, DOTP is widely used in applications such as wire and cable insulation, flooring materials, artificial leather, automotive interiors, films, and coated fabrics. In recent years, due to stricter environmental and health regulations on certain phthalates, DOTP has become increasingly popular in the plastics industry as a preferred plasticizer for many flexible PVC products.

Diisononyl Phthalate (DINP)

Diisononyl Phthalate (DINP) is a high-molecular-weight primary plasticizer widely used in the plastics industry, particularly for flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products. It is a clear, oily liquid that provides excellent flexibility, durability, and long-term stability to plastic materials. DINP works by reducing the intermolecular forces between polymer chains, allowing the material to become softer and more flexible while maintaining strength. Compared to some traditional plasticizers, DINP has lower volatility and better resistance to migration, which helps plastic products retain their properties over extended periods of use. It also offers good resistance to heat, weathering, and mechanical stress, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Due to these advantages, DINP is commonly used in the production of cable insulation, flooring, roofing membranes, coated fabrics, synthetic leather, toys, and automotive components. Its good processing characteristics and durability make it an important plasticizer for manufacturing high-performance flexible PVC products.

Dioctyl Adipate (DOA)

Dioctyl Adipate (DOA) is an important primary plasticizer widely used in the plastics industry, especially for flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) applications that require excellent performance at low temperatures. It is a clear, colorless oily liquid that improves the flexibility, softness, and elasticity of plastic materials. DOA works by reducing the intermolecular forces between polymer chains, allowing the material to remain flexible and less brittle even in cold conditions. One of the key advantages of DOA is its outstanding low-temperature flexibility, which makes it particularly suitable for products exposed to cold environments. It also provides good compatibility with PVC, improved processing properties, and resistance to oils and chemicals. Because of these characteristics, DOA is commonly used in the manufacture of food packaging films, wire and cable coatings, synthetic leather, hoses, and other flexible plastic products. Its ability to maintain softness and durability at low temperatures makes it a valuable plasticizer in many industrial and commercial applications.
